Bullets not to use in Microsoft Word

I've been doing some work with converting documents between Word and Writer, and have found that this bullet format doesn't go well between the two. The text ends up in the middle of the document, and there's no space between the bullet and the text. Steer clear of this bullet format in Word and you'll have a better conversion experience.

My Bullets & Numbering dialog does not look like the one pictured on this page. I'm using OO 2.3.1. I don't have a "Customize" button at the bottom, which is what I would like to do!

The picture is from Word, it's of the bullets in Word that you're not supposed to use.

absolutely NO bulleted paragraph created in OO beta 3 gets translated properly to a doc file. At best, spacing between the bullet and text is WRONG and the lines in the bulleted paragraph don't wrap correctly. It's a shame that I have to keep Word around just so that I can correctly bullet paragraphs because OO can't!
