An alert user pointed out to me a great new feature. It's the Easy Version of OpenOffice.org.
Just choose File > Use Easy Version. The interface will flicker a bit and you'll see a different set of menus. Among the benefits:
- An easy-to-follow wizard for importing and exporting from Base
- Reliable, simple envelope printing
- A checkbox for suppressing the page number on the first page
- And much more.
I feel so silly -- I've been blogging all this time to show how to do things in the standard version, when there was an easy version to use, all this time.
No worries. Some people enjoy doing things the hard way (even if they're cheating and using help from sites like yours). They feel smarter.

Hi,
Is this something new in OOo 2.2? I can't find it in OOo 2.1 (Linux or Windows) or NeoOffice on my Mac.
Or, is this restricted to the English version? ( I am using a Traditional Chinese interface though.)
Best,
Peter. w
