I wanted to make sure that everyone out there in OpenOffice.org 1.x land knows how to do plain old envelopes and mail merges. (These are just based on text and graphics you specify rather than coming from a database.) Everyone isn't going to be converting to OpenOffice.org 2.0 the day it comes out, so I hope this information will be useful for quite a few people for a while.
Envelopes and labels actually work very similarly in OpenOffice.org 2.0, so don't have any reluctance to learn this approach if it's your first time with labels.
There are no lab files necessary for these exercises; you create all documents from scratch.
I downloaded the .pdf file for labels and envdelopes, and this file explains how to do it.

Open Office 3 does not work at all in my Lexmark Optra. The drivers are not in the cups that are needed. I may as well go back to my Word Perfect which does a much better job on documents generally and specifically on Envelopes.
